YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This weeks Yorkshire middle route Combine race from Huntingdon on the 23rd of April were liberated in a Light North East wind and Topping the Combine and the South Section is Kerry and Lisa Mellonby of Bridlington on 1287.  Topping the West Section is Brian Ford and Son Gary of Norton on 1280. Topping the Central Section is George Rudd of Hull on 1274. Topping the North Section is Mervin Hinchcliffe of Filey on 1269. Well done to everyone. We had some sad news today that Alf West of Bridlington passed away on the 24th of April.

Coastal South Section:

Flamborough Homing Society. 10 members sent 166 birds with the red card going to Kerry & Lisa Mellonby on 1287 with a Premier Stud yearling Hardy Kruger cock scored as young bird. Second place went to Kerry & Lisa Mellonby on 1287 with a Premier Stud 2yr old Hardy Kruger cock also previous prize winner

Third place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1285 with a Steve Sellars Martin Steffi pigeon scored many times before. Fourth place went to Kerry & Lisa Mellonby on 1283 with a 2yr old Premier stud Albert Derwa hen winner of lots of prizes.

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 10 members sent 285 birds with the red card going to Derek Nicholls on 1286 with a Premier Stud yearling Heremans Ceuster which has scored before. Second place went to Derek Nicholls on 1286 with a Premier Stud yearling Geerinckx cock Third place went to Derek Nicholls on 1284 with a Premier Stud Heremans Ceuster cock which has had many prizes and was second combine last week. Fourth place went to Reg Wright on 1283 with a yearling Janssen Van Loon x Van Reet cock

Bridlington D.F.C. 5 members sent 62 birds with the red card going to Kerry and Lisa Mellonby on 1262 with a Premier Stud Multi winning Hereman Ceuster hen. Second place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1246 with a Koopman x Jacob Poortvliet. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1241 with a Jacob Poortvliet x Louis Thijs. Fourth place went to Kerry and Lisa Mellonby on 1222 with a Premier Stud Hereman Ceuster hen which won last week.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 6 members sent 161 birds with the red card and Second Third and Fourth places going to Gavin Leahy on 1280, 1267, 1245 and 1239 all with his Clive Lister Vandenabeeles.

Withernsea Homing Society. 7 members sent 133 birds with the red card Second Third and Fourth places going to Dave Beadle on 1220, 1220 1216 and 1216 all with his Hardy Krugers.

West Section:

Norton I. Flying Club.  10 members sent 293 birds with the red card going to Brian Ford & Son Gary on 1280 with a Hereman Ceuster which has had many cards before. Second place went to Brian Ford & Son Gary on 1280 with a Hereman Ceuster which has had 2 x 1st prizes before. Third place went to Brian Ford & Son Gary on 1278 with a Hereman Ceuster. Fourth place went once again to Brian Ford & Son Gary on 1277 with a Hereman Ceuster which was 2nd last week.

Eastrington P. F. C. 8 members sent 132 birds with the red card going to G. W. Atkinson on 1271 with a Gaby Vandenabeele x Van Hove. Second place went to G. W. Atkinson on 1232 with a Gaby x Van Hove. Third place went to Wardle & Hayward on 1224 with a Mick Levitt x Wildemeersch which won the John Pickering £50.00 single bird nom. Fourth place went to G. W Atkinson on 1224 with a De Saer.

Second place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1262 with a Soontjen x Van den Bosche cock. Third place went to P. Irving on 1228 with a Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1222 with a Premier Stud Hardy Kruger.

Hull Millennium Club. 14 members sent 268 birds with the red card going to A. Stone & Son on 1272 with a 2yr old. Second place went to John & Jackie Hall on 1265 with a yearling hen. North Hull Club. 8 members sent 78 birds with the red card going to B & A Burke on 1212 with a 4yr old Gary Cox Van Reet which has 8 x 1st to its name. Second place went to Barry Kiplin on 1210 with a B & A Burke Staf Van Reet yearling which won Sleaford. Third place went to B & A Burke on 1204 with a Van Reet. Fourth place went to C. M. Wood & Son on 1193 with a R. Crawford which won last week.

Kingston Flying Club. 5 members sent 71 birds with the red card going to Craig Clark on 1204 with a Hereman Ceuster cock. Second place went to Andy Hunter on 1167 with a Koopman cock which has already had a 1st this year. Third place went to Andy Hunter on 1167 with another. Fourth place went to Craig Clark on 1167 no details.

Little Weighton Club. 4 members sent 51 birds with the red card going to Dennis Jackson and Arthur Fletcher on 1192 with one of Eddie McKerley of Airdre Cattrysse gift birds and also wins the beer nom. Second place went to Chris Fenn on 1151 with a yearling of Jackson & Fletcher stock x Les Pollard.  Third and Fourth place went to Tony Walker on 1137 and 1136 with a pair of Gary Cox Roundabout birds which have both won before.

Walton Priory Club. 7 members sent 106 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Haldenby on 1226 with a self bred Gary Cox cock. Second Third and Fourth places went to Mick Foster on 1208, 1206 and 1183 with three self bred F. Davies Vandenabeele bloodlines.

Driffield Homing Society. 7 members sent 125 birds with the red card going to Paul Woodmansey on 1259 with a Bob Mallinson cock which won the longest race last year. Second place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1256 with a multi prize winning Barberien x Van den Brante. Third place went to Pete Dixon on 1239 with a J. Hotham x P. Dixon Fourth place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1231 with a widowhood cock taking its first prize card. Paul wins the nom.

On monday morning members received the devastating news that an arsonist had burned the Driffield homing society clubhouse to the ground. The fire service were called by the police at 3am but were unable to save the building which was completely destroyed along with the vital club equipment inside. Police investigators have confirmed arson was the most likely cause.

 

Coastal North Section:
