YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This weeks Yorkshire middle route Combine race from Arras on the 14th of May were liberated at 9.5 in a hard North West wind. Topping the Combine and the North Section is Storr Bros & Son of Whitby on 1130. Topping the South Section is Derek Nicholls of Patrington on 1127. Topping the West Section is George Atkinson of Eastrington on 1124. Topping the Central Section is Barry Kipling of Hull on 1119.  Well done to everyone on another hard race.

Coastal North Section:

 

Whitby Premier Club. 8 members sent 104 birds with the red card going to Brian Storr Bros & Son Jason on 1130 with a 2yr old self bred J Douglass & Son x Myers Bros of Great Ayton roundabout hen. Second place went to Alan Richardson on 1130 with a yearling Louis Thijs Hereman Ceuster widowhood hen. Third place went to Alan Richardson on 1073 with a hen same way bred and the 2nd prize winner which has had many cards before. Fourth place went to Storr Bros & Son on 1073 with a

3yr old roundabout self bred Atkinson & Perkins of Billingham hen which has had minor cards. Barry Storr  and Storr Bros & Son win the Noms.

Scarborough Social Club. 6 members sent 53 birds with the red card and Second place going to Derek Howard and Paddy Johnson on 1103 and 1061 with a pair off Keith Arkless from up north birds. Third place went to Neil Rogers on 1035 with a Jan Aarden x Rauw Sablon. Fourth place went to Pete Thorpe on 1018 with a roundabout Martin Wood special.

Scarborough Flying Club. 3 members sent 24 birds with the red card and Second place going to Pete Thorpe on 1059 and 997 with a pair of roundabout Joe Bowman of Scotland long distant blood. Third place went to John Flinton (W&P Flinton & Sons on 903 with a part old blood lines x Tony Meek breed. Fourth place went to Steve Patchett on 886 with a 50% Grizzles x 50% Desmet Mattys.

Filey Homing Society. 4 members sent 26 birds with the red card going to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1077 with a Rauw Sablon x Hereman Ceusters. Second place went to Mervyn Hinchcliffe on 1076 with a Chris Baxter Peter Van De Muir. Third place went to Mr & Mrs Hotham on 1071 with a S & S Trattles of Loftus. Fourth place went to Colin Smith on 1029 with a Bryan Maude widowhood hen.

Hunmanby Homing Society. 5 members sent 29 birds with the red card going to Jason & Arthur Barmby on 1099 with one of his own breed. Second place went to Tony Robson with a Marina Van de Velde. Third place went to John & Les Hill on 992 with a Bussey Chapel x Busschaert. Fourth place went to John and Les Hill on 987 with a Flor Engels.

 

Coastal South Section:

 

Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 5 members sent 127 birds with the red card going to Derek Nicholls on 1127 with a Premier Stud Geerinckx cock which was 4th sec.  mnfc as a young bird. Second place went to Andrea Nicholls on 1126 with a Premier Stud Gaston Van de Wouwer hen was 4th combine Arras last year. Third place went to Andrea Nicholls on 1125 with a Premier Stud Geerinckx  which was 8th combine from Chelmsford. Fourth place went to Andrea Nicholls again on 1125 with a Premier Stud Rauw Sablon hen.

Flamborough Homing Society. 7 members sent 89 birds with the red card going to Hoggard, Linley & Ellis on 1112 with a Hereman Ceuster. Second place went to Gray & Atkin on 1086 with a Rudi de Saer x Bosua Reyneart. Third place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1084 with a multi scoring Gaby Vandenabeele. Fourth place went to Hoggard, Linley & Ellis on 1079 with a 2yr old Soontjen hen.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 7 members sent 84 birds with the red card going to Phil and June Edmonds on 1094 with one of his Vandenabeeles. Second Third and Fourth places went to Gavin Leahy on 1092, 1090 and 1068 all with his family of Vandenabeeles.

Withernsea Homing Society. 6 members sent 77 birds with the red card going to Dave Beadle on 1099 with a Gaston Van de Wouwer hen. Second place went to Tony Meek on 1061 with a Multi prize winning Dave Beadle gift bird. Third place went to Dave Beadle on 1058 with a Sablon hen. Fourth places going to Dave Beadle on 1058 with a Hardy Kruger hen.

 

Central Section:

 

Cottingham Homing Society. 5 members sent 59 birds with the red card going to John & Margaret Rawson on 1112 with one off his own Pit Bull which has now had 6 first prizes. Second place went to Ian Tuttle on 1108 with the same Hofken Van Reet that won last week. Third place went to John & Margaret Rawson on 1096 with a stock pigeon he loaned to Alec Dodson then got it back and had no where to put it so decided to race it. Fourth place went to John & Margaret Rawson on 1089 with a Marina van de Velde x Radar had cards before.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 9 members sent 68 birds with the red card going to Franciosy & Bennett on 1093 with a Keyon x Jan Arden cock which has had a 4th and 5th. Second place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1090 with a Soontjen x Van den Bosch hen. Third place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1090 with a Cattrice x Jan Arden hen. Fourth place went again to Franciosy & Bennett on 1076 with a Van den Bosch cock.

Hull Millennium Club. 9 members sent 68 birds with the red card and Second place going to Alan Stone & Son on 1110 with a pair of self breds off his  Third place went to Kev Green on 1106 with one off his Ark family. Fourth place went to John & Jackie Hall on 1089.

Driffield Homing Society. 6 members sent 45 birds with the red card going to Pete Dixon on 1114 with a 5yr old self bred off the late Ray Bell blood this cock has been a previous winner. Second place went to Paul Woodmansey on 1087 with a 4yr old cock which has topped the combine Inland before and also had a 2nd and 3rd over the channel last year bred by Bob Mallinson. Third place went to Pete Dixon on 1081 with a 3yr old Royal Oak lofts Van Dyke cock which has won before. Fourth place went to Pete Dixon on 1077 with a 3yr old Cattrese of the late D. Stephenson stock.

North Hull Club. 6 members sent 31 birds with the red card going to Barry Kipling on 1119 with a yearling off Peter and Angie Burke which won Sleaford. Second place went to Barry Kipling on 1112 with a S & S Hadley & Family Van Loon. Third place went to Vic Walsh on 1101 with a Fikk pigeon. Fourth place went to B. Kirby on 1072 with a Van Reet x Wildemeersch.

Little Weighton Club. 4 members sent 32 birds with the red card going to Jackson & Fletcher on 1083 with a yearling cock bred off Charlie Thomson and partner Mark Peterson of Aberdeen stock. Second place went to Jacksons & Fletcher on 1045 with a gift bird off Eddie McKerley of Airdie. Third place went to Jackson & Fletcher on 1003 with one same way as the 1st bird. Fourth place went to Bob Lonsdale on 998 with a natural 2yr old bred down from cousin Kevin Kingston bob also wins the beer nom.

Walton Priory Club. 5 members sent 45 birds with the red card going to Mick Foster on 1113 with a Fred D Davies Vandenabeele cock. Second place went to Mick Foster on 1111 with a gift cock which has won this year. Third place went to G. Block on 1099 with a Busschaert cock. Fourth place went to Mick Foster on 1059 with a Fred Davies BVandenabeele hen.

West Section  

Eastrington P. F. C. 10 members sent 31 birds with the red card going to George Atkinson on 1124 with a Gaby x Van Hove which won last week. Second place went to George Atkinson on 1100 with a Van Rhee x Van Hove. Third place went to George Atkinson on 1090 with a Gaby x Van Hove. Fourth places went again to George Atkinson on 1124 with a Gaby Vandenabeele x Van Hove

Norton I. Flying Club. 9 members sent 88 birds with the red card going to Mick Burdett on 1119 with a Leemputten. Second place went to Mick Burdett on 1110 with a Drapa x Leemputten. Third place went to Mick Burdett on 1107 with a Leemputten which has scored over the Channel before. Fourth place went to Maurice Hodgson on 1099 with a Lindelauf from Blackpool.

Kirbymoorside F. Club. 8 members sent 77 birds with the red card going to Albert Tateson on 1121 with a self bred Leemputten. Second place went to Albert Tateson on 1103 with Bobby Thorpe x R. Mort Leemputten. Third place went to Albert Tateson on 1094 with a George Ray Louella stud x self bred Leemputten. Fourth place went again to Albert Tateson on 1076 with a R. Mort Leemputten.
