YORKSHIRE MIDDLE ROUTE COMBINE NEWS

This weeks Yorkshire middle route Combine race from Clermont on the 10th of June were liberated in a Light Northerly wind. Topping the Combine and the Central Section is Scott & Kevin Marritt of Hull on 1414. Topping the West Section is Albert Tateson of Norton on 1403. Topping the Coastal South Section is Derek Nicholls of Patrington on 1322. Topping the North Section is Storr Bros & Son of Whitby on 1186. Well done everyone on another difficult race the weather has yet to be kind to us.
Central Section:
Hull Millennium Club. 7 members sent 45 birds with the red card going to Scott & Kevin Marritt on 1415 with a bought in D. Robinson roundabout Vandenabeele Scott would like to thank his wife for putting his E.T.S on and also two of his friends for looking after them when he is at work. Second place went to D & T Green on 1391 with a Volkles which was racing to the nest. Third place went to John & Jackie Hall on 1313 with a bought in roundabout Karel Boeckx. Fourth place went to Alan Stone & Son on 1282.
Hull Chalk Lane Club. 7 members sent 61 birds with the red card going to George Rudd on 1397 with a Willy Jacobs cock which won the same race last year. Second place went to Bri Rowson on 1338 with a Soontjen x his blacks and it won Huntingdon. Third place went to Bri Rowson on 1158 with a Franciosy & Bennett gift bird. Fourth place went to Franciosy & Bennett on 1150 with a cock.
Cottingham Homing Society. 3 members sent 14 birds with the red card going to Ian Tuttle on 1115 with a Mick Mallinson Staf Van Reet which has had 2 x 3rd from Clermont and a 4th on the channel. Second place went to Ian Tuttle on 1086 with a Ronnie Nicklin Hereman Ceuster which was 3rd from Eastbourne.
Driffield Homing Society. 3 members sent 15 birds with the red card going to Pete Dixon on 1196 with a Royal Oak Van Dyke cock which has had a 4th Battle & 3rd Arras this year. Second place went to Pete Dixon on 1163 with a Royal Oak Vandenabeele which had best in club show. Third place went to Pete Dixon on 1120 with a Royal Oak yearling Vandenabeele 1st time over channel.Fourth place went to Pete Dixon on 1083 with a Late Ray Bell of Kelo Vandenabeele which won on the channel last year.
North Hull Club. 4 members sent 17 birds with the red card going to C. M. Wood on 854 with a Martindale Bros of Hessle Van Hee x Roman Legiest.
Little Weighton Club. 3 members sent 24 birds with the red card going to Jacksons & Fletcher on 1224 with a yearling gift bird off Charlie Thomson & Mark Peterson which has already had a 1st this season. Second place went to Jacksons & Fletcher on 1211 with one same way bred as the winner. Third place went to Chris Fenn on 981 with a Roundabout Van Loon cock taking its 2nd card this season and also wins the nom.
Walton Priory Club. 4 members sent 14 birds with the red card going to Mick Foster on 1035 with a Richard Crawford Staf Van Reet which has taken card this year. Second place went to Pete Mitchell on 1003 with a 2yr old Vandenabeele.
Coastal North Section:
Scarborough Social Club. 7 members sent 63 birds with the red card going to Steve Patchett on 1165 with a Hatfield Bros x the late Walt Flinton Goosens which he never fails to get on the Channel. Second place went to Pete Thorpe on 1129 with a Martin Wood Reitvelde. Third place went to Andy Moon on 1123 with a pigeon bred out of a gift bird off Dave Elvidge. Fourth place went to Martin Wood on 1111 with a pure Mari Reitvelde of Lexmond.

Second place went to Alan Richardson on 1172 with a yearling self bred P & J Rozier cock. Third place went to Alan Richardson on 1167 with a self bred Louis Thijs yearling hen. Fourth place went to Brian Storr Bros & Son Jason on 1163 with a J. Douglass & Son 2yr old roundabout hen. Bob Mallinson and Jason and Brian win the noms.
Coastal South Section:
Patrington Haven Leisure Club. 5 members sent 84 birds with the red card going to Derek Nicholls on 1322 with a Premier Stud Gaston Van de Wouwer cock. Second Third and Fourth places went to Tony Meek on 1276, 1276 and 1255 all with his Roundabout family of birds.

Second place went to Kerry & Lisa Mellonby on 1287 with a Gaston Van de Wouwer x Albert Derwa. Third place went again to Kerry & Lisa Mellonby on 1281 with a Hardy Kruger which has had cards before. Fourth place went to John & Linda Chadwick on 1244 with a Premier Stud DeReaw which won Eastbourne.
