This week was the first race of the season from Sleaford on the 13th of April which was liberated in a North Easterly wind. Topping the Combine and the West Section is S. Woodward of Norton on 1512. Topping the North Section is S. Mallinson & Son of Whitby on 1476. Topping the Central Section is P. Carmichael of Hull on 1465. Topping the South Section is Sam Jackson of Driffield on 1459. Well done to everyone
West Section
Norton I. Flying Club. 7 members sent 139 birds with the red card and Second place going to Steve Woodward on 1512 and 1509. Third and Fourth places went to Alan Gill on 1498 and 1498 Alan also won all the pools good returns. A big thank you went to Jade Neal for helping with the ets etc.
Coastal North Section:
Scarborough Social Club. 7 members sent 120 birds with the red card going to Dave Pickering on 1441 with a Sue & Ken Skelton 2yr old cock. Second place went to Pete Thorpe on 1438 with a 2yr old. Third place went to Dave Pickering on 1425 with a 3yr old Marina Van de Velde cock. Fourth place went again to Dave Pickering on 1423 with a 2yr old Marina Van de Velde cock which won Huntingdon last year, Dave is one of two members that still fly with a T3 clock and is 80 this year.
Whitby Premier Club. 8 members sent 236 birds with the red card going to S Mallinson & son on 1476 yearling Lous Thijs cock off direct stock. Second place went to S Mallinson Son 1476 a Patrick de Meutter x Lous Thijs previous cards 2nd Billericay 4TH Newark, 5TH Peterborough, 5TH & 6th Huntingdon. Third place went to S Mallinson & Son on 1475 with a yearling direct Louis Thijs cock which has had a 4th Huntingdon. Fourth place went to S Mallinson & Son on 1475 with a yearling hen bred by Robert’s good friend Willy Verberck of Berlaar.
Central Section:
Hull Chalk Lane Club. 10 members sent 134 birds with the red card going to P. Carmichael on 1465 with a self bred Dave Robinson Vandenabeele. Second place went to P. Irving on 1403 with a Vandenabeele hen. Third place went to P. Carmichael on 1383 with same as winner. Fourth place went again to P. Carmichael on 1357 with a self bred Vandenabeele.
Kingston Flying Club. 5 members sent 111 birds with the red card going to H. Wallace on 1457 with a self bred Nigel Laycock and trained by Noel Houghton. Second & Third places went to Foster & Bennett on 1435 & 1358 with a pair of Sayers bros Van Winkle. Fourth place went to Mr & Mrs King on 1349 with a Coreman x Ceuster.
Hull Millennium Club. 9 members sent 218 birds with the red card going to K & H Green on 1444 with one of his Ark strain racing to 7day old eggs. Second Third and Fourth places went to Alan Stone & Son on 1415, 1415 & 1414 all with his Gerry & Mark McCall from Ireland.
Cottingham Homing Society. 5 members sent 55 birds with the red card and second place going to Kev Kingston & Family on 1382 & 1340 with a pair of yearlings. Third and Fourth place went to John & Margaret Rawson on 1318 & 1273 with a pair of yearlings.
