The club held their prize presentation on the 25th February at their club headquarters which is The Jolly Sailor Newport. The members sat down to an excellent meal served by the clubs hosts Chris and Carol. After everyone was full up with food it was down to business with the presentation with the Guest of honour for the evening was Marie Dobbe who used to fly in the club with husband Koos, who sadly passed away last October which was a big shock to everyone.

Starting with the Top prize winner was George Atkinson who had an excellent season winning the old bird average, young bird points cup, longest young bird shield, the
Mr and Mrs Brumby trophy for the longest old bird inland and longest young bird average over the two races and the winner of the bird of the year cup with his good cock bird 21.
Next up was the partnership of Wardle and Hayward winning the channel average and the Harold Elgey Memorial Trophy for the best average from the two Clermont races. Being a club that flies for the love of the sport rather than the prize money, last year we decided to have three special races at £50.00 a race on a two bird nomination winner takes all. Race one Huntingdon 23rd April was sponsored by our retired generous builder John Pickering and the winner of the £50.00 was Wardle and Hayward. Race two Chelmsford 5th June was won by Alan Beevers and race three Clermont 10th June was won by Wardle & Hayward again.

Last but not least was Carol Shipley our Secretary/Treasurer who received a gift from the members for all her hard work throughout the year.
Good Luck to everyone for the coming season, Lets hope it's a good one!!
