If you require tickets then they can be booked through your club secretary or directly with Clive Harris, telephone 01685 879 159.It was a really good night last year with an excellent atmosphere, so don’t leave it too late.

Next up is another presentation night, this one is my own club, Tonypandy Central, this was held at the club head quarters. The night was a sell out, with support coming from members of many other clubs in the area in the 80 or so that supported the function. Thanks must go to Roz Port and her able helper’s for preparing a superb Buffet. With Chairman Jason Bright and club secretary Viv Port on the microphone, you didn’t need a comedian for entertainment with this pair.We had two main guests for the evening, Tony Coombs, who really helped the club out earlier in the year with his help and advice with the introduction of the Bricon Ets into the club, second Guest was AdrianWare, Ramsgate National winner in 2008.Club Champions in 2008 was yours truly, Martin and Mal Dunn, flying as Dunn Son Seal,Tony Seal Leaving the partnership in 2008, Although Tony still found time to watch the birds come from the races when possible. This year we managed to win 10 x 1st club, 5 x 2nds, 4 x 3rds, plus other positions and prizes for a total of £455.To complete a really good season we were 2nd highest prize winners in the Rhondda Valley federation.Runners-up were Roy Street and Les Hughes, these two were really consistent throughout the year, winning 4 x 1st, 6 x 2nd and 6 x 3rd club for a Total of  £292, they also enjoyed a really good year with their other club, Cwmparc in 2008.

That completed the presentation, with a singer for the night and Jason and Viv doing the compare and taking the Michael out of everyone, it turned into a really good night, with plenty of hangovers the next day.   I have also received the details of the Nantymoel H.S., prize night, this was held on 5th December at the club H.Q, the Nantymoel social club, Before going onto the winners, first we should mention two members that the club lost during 2008, sadly  club secretary John Hale, died suddenly and secondly Charlie Daddow who was chief marker, the members would like to pay their respects to these two superb people who put a lot into the club and are sadly missed by all the remaining members. On a brighter note, heading the list again in 2008 is Denny Phillips, Denny who is ably assisted by Jakey Kristaps, Denny has also suffered with health problems in 2008, this didn’t deter him winning 9 x 1st club, including 4 from across the water and his customary high national position from Bonn, he also takes home an incredible £754 pools and prizes plus another £300 from the clubs ring scheme.Runner – up are H&J David, this is Young Josh David helped by Mum and Grandfather Phil, they clear  3x 1st club, 5 x 2nd club, plus cash winnings of £383, with another £200 from the club Gold Rings it was another good year for Josh. cIn 3rd spot, with a really good young bird campaign, spoiled by an Ets Failure out of Ramsgate, are Maurice and John Owen, they win 3 x 1st club, 5 x 2nd club and a cash total of £266 to help pay for the corn.Just behind the Owen’s are John Courts & son, these have won 4 x 1st club,3 x 2nd club and cleared pool and prize money of £231, best win being 1st Lillers old birds.  Next are Bayliss Walker and Nolan, Old head of Alan Bayliss, with the energy of 10 Year old Ryan and Shay, this loft win 1st club Newbury, plus 6th Fed and another 7 positions, plus £220 in pool and prize money.Bayliss and Bayliss had a good pigeon when winning Maidstone old birds, Phillip, also collected another 3 positions for a total of £120,followed by J.Gripton who takes home £71 and 2nd/3rd ring scheme for another £21, with the list closing at Tatchell and Daddow who collected their winnings of  £4.
