Success in my opinion has always been down to doing your homework, without this you are just buying pigeons blind. looking through pedigrees helps but that is not the full picture. I look for performance over a period of time and then go and look at the birds. If birds don't meet my criteria then they are not for me. Luckily over the years I  have had my hands  on some good birds. The Bosma pigeons Paul Beaumont and myself introduced two years ago have been a great success . The performances up to now speak for themselves.

From the end of 2019 we started looking again to see if we could improve on the quality of the birds we already had. After looking at the results of the top fanciers of the Netherlands we came across a super partnership of father and son Johan and Thomas Den Harthog who after getting in touch with them invited us over, we jumped at the opportunity to view the birds and see if they were of the quality we were looking for. When we arrived we were looked after by Johan and his wife. After viewing the birds we knew straight away that we would be going ahead with the purchase of birds from the best breeders. After we returned from Holland I had a discussion with Garry Wall about the performances of the Harthog family who then researched in depth and came up with some surprising results. Over the last seven years were better than we ever anticipated and were definitely the genes we were after to enhance the quality of the Bosma  birds.
