Out of Kesteven & Rutland, 5 members sent 97 birds to the race point. Brian Garfoot took 1st club doing 1558. Brian also took 2nd club doing 1556. His 1st/2nd birds were from his Belgian family. Paul Maiden took 3rd & 4th club doing 1554/1551. No details on Paul's birds were given.
Returns were reported as very good.

Eleven members sent 296 birds. The 1st club went to "uncle" Albert Farrow doing 1555.50. No details given about his winning bird. B.Hobbs & Son took 2nd club doing 1545.30. Barry and Troy's 2nd club was a Vandenabeele which has 9 x 1sts under its wings. Mr & Mrs Stafford took 3rd club doing 1518.52. Graham's blue cock bird was 2nd Midland National last season. B.Peacock netted 4th club doing 1509.58. No details given about this bird.

Seven members sent 80 birds to Basingstoke race point. Mr & Mrs Smith & young Tommy took 1st/2nd club doing 1556/1492. The Wymington Trio's birds were a nest pair, both cocks. They were bred out of a Pied cock which won a television last season (which Mick keeps rubbing in, as my better half never nom'd his bird)!! The 1st/2nd nest pair's mum was bred from a Neil Burt Black Krauth. S.Chabrowski (Sam) took 3rd/4th club doing 1474/1435. No detail's given about "Sam's" birds.

Here we are again, pacing up and down the garden for another season. More so at our club Wellingborough, as we have changed direction. At least we got off to a great start, with such lovely weather. It look's good for next weekend too. So get the deckchairs handy, and a cold beer-to keep the nerves at bay!
