JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES
My last report was the finale of the 2025 NIPA Racing season. A Super season for all involved and many thanks to all that helped providing information for my race reports throughout the year.
Up next for fanciers is a short break from the birds with the moulting finishing off. November is quite possibly the busiest month for me as every club reflects on their season and celebrate their achievements with prizegiving’s taking place. I am very lucky to be apart of some super prizegiving evenings over the years and have made some great friends and met top fanciers from across the country at these events. It’s definitely a highlight in my role as Press Officer.
LIGONIEL & DISTRICT H.P.S. PRESENTATION NIGHT
First up in the beginning of my Prizegiving Calendar was Ligoniel & District H.P.S. in Section C. Saturday 1st of November in Ligoniel Pigeon Club, Belfast. It’s always an honour for me and Dad to be invited to enjoy the Night with Ligoniel. This is our third year attending and have made great friends and its always a very well organised night by the members and all involved. The vast array of Silverware that is handed out is second to none, a great reward for their great racing throughout the year. It’s always a brilliant night had by all and is something I really look forward to.
The afternoon got underway when meeting at the clubrooms for being transported together to Corr’s Corner Hotel for a lovely meal with a few sing songs along the way. Chairman Darren McMurray made a toast and to thank the staff for providing a lovely meal for all. Back on the bus the comradery was brilliant back to Ligoniel. Chairman Darren McMurray then got the evening underway by expressing his gratitude on behalf of the club thanking all the members for another great year. And a Big thanks to the Guests of the Evening Gary Hughes & Jordan Hughes top flyers from Newry who presented the Silverware. And thanks to Jackie Henry & Myself for taking pictures of the presentation. And a special thanks to the Bar Staff for looking after them and to Club Secretary Rab Taylor for all his time and work put into the Club and to Willie Waite for all his hard work also.
