Back in the day, Carlisle long distance stalwart Tom Gilbertson and my father and I would have a weekend away in the winter and visit top distance lofts. With this in mind, and knowing that Tom has travelled widely over the years simply to go and see and appreciate long distance pigeons, I asked him to give some thought to putting down on paper those which have left the biggest impression on him.
