A small back garden loft with small team's results from channel races 2025.

To put this into some context I breed 20 late breds young birds starting when the old bird racing season ends. These young birds are not trained or raced as youngsters they just are settled and outside all day. Their first time in a basket is in preparation for the old bird season as yearlings which if they are lucky, they may get a few trainers from 10 to 20 miles. Then they go to the old bird race's this year they had approximately 5 inland races to 200 miles usually 3 races 120/130, 160and 200 miles. Then over the channel 350, 375 and 500 miles. They are fed through winner 80% barley 20% breed and wean to 200 miles. Once channel racing starts, I start adding weather conditions depending extreme feed and the further they race I add hemp sunflower hearts and peanuts. It's what I don’t give them which makes the difference what I mean by this is no medication and no commercial supplements. I do use my home made natural supplements you can find how to make them on my YouTube site search Dave Bunker Brierley. https://youtube.com/@davebunkerbrierley2434?si=YfpT2KtdVMQmcXcX

I also don't follow the hygiene hypothesis and have the birds on deep litter. (Have you seen how much diseases are in hospitals).
So why am I telling you all this, the answer is to show you all that racing pigeons doesn't have to be difficult or complicated and cost you an arm and a leg it's us the fancy not the birds that make it this way. The further fanciers move away from the natural environment that the pigeon has evolved to live in the more stress in the form of physical, chemical and emotional stress it's put under which leads to illness and ill bird's don't perform to their potential. If you want to learn more on the detail of why our bird’s get sick you type into Elimar articles Dave Bunker Brierley Search Articles | Elimar Pigeon Services Limited https://share.google/Zer4Teoxvla0526xV and you will find numerous articles on this subject and the family of birds I fly. I hope this has been helpful to you and I wish you all the best with your pigeons.
