Mid Cheshire Fed

When I see change in our area and it is moving the sport forward, I have to mention it, and in this case the Mid Cheshire Fed have opened up their boundary. They have gone from 12 to 20 clubs in no time at all and their first race saw a mega increase in comparison to what they have been sending in previous years. In the first race from Cheltenham 146 members sent 3,617 birds, the fed is normally probably averaging less than 1,500. There are the birds in the area to increase these numbers but will they, we shall have to wait and see. Well done to the officials for taking this step forward, not only for the Fed but also for pigeon racing in the area. There are and have been small feds around the Cheshire area for some time, but this could be the start of joining them together and having a fed worth winning. I suppose the benefit of these numbers was due to other’s not racing yet but it is an indicator of what can happen if they get together. They could go back to the entries of the 1970/80’s when there was good birdage and on a regular basis.
