Mid Cheshire
This weekend saw the last races for the local federations in August with the Middlewich FC being at Mangotsfield when W Wilson & Son added another red car to their list for the season. The team were also 2nd when they cocked two on 1417/1324ypm with the first being 4th fed, a good result. 3rd goes to the evergreen Alan Groom on 1296ypm. I was looking at both the local clubs and their velocities have been a bit more spread out in most races then I would have expected.
All change at the top of the Acton Bridge result with Jones Bros and Karen Jones taking the first 3 positions. Their first in the clock was a blue hen flying to the perch while the next one is a blue hen racing home to a pair of chipping eggs which is good motivation for any young hen. They then clocked a chequer cock chasing his hen to the nest. As has been the case for many years with this partnership all three pigeon came from Andre Clemens lines that have been so successful since they were bought in about 15 years ago and they have been winning with them ever since. Jack was also saying that they have not been crossed with any other lines so they are confident that the inbreeding with the family will continue to bring good results. In this race, their winning vels were 1423/1421.7/1421.5ypm. The Curtis-Wall-Lunt partnership were 4th recording a velocity of 1401ypm.
The club were racing with the Mid Cheshire Fed when 47 members entered 1034 birds for a Mangotsfield race when the birds were liberated at 10am with no wind. The Jones Bros & Karan Jones partnership secured the first three plus 15th position in what was a good result all round for the fed.

The Middlewich 5B were at Frome when once again the top two positions went to W Wilson & Son with a chequer cock and chequer w/f hen. Their first two through the traps clocking up 1377ypm which is 70yds ahead of 3rd placed Ken Bosson & Son, while 4th goes to Ron Woodward whose first in the clock recorded a vel of 1303ypm.
These birds were raced in the South West Cheshire Fed when 27 members sent 800 birds liberated at 10.30am with no wind. This weeks fed winners are Mr & Mrs Richard Young from the Crewe West End.
