KINGDOM RACING PIGEON ASSOCIATION

by Stuart Bowman

The weather has not improved in the least and as we went to the next 2 races it was extremely difficult just to train, never mind race. I know of a few who did and they are paying the price for it now! At times the weather was more akin to December such was the rain and low pressure we have had. Although we have tried racing on Friday Saturday and Sunday, the weather has always had a say in it, and always will! At least though we are trying to work round this catastrophic weather. It has been a pain for the whole Y.B season for the Controller and Convoyer and needless to say the fancier. However when it’s all said and done it’s still the poor pigeons that have to put up with our very changeable climate. This year I have never heard of so many fanciers say that they were fed up with the weather forecasts not being accurate enough, so often they were changed and so often they have been wrong. So what chance have we got.

Late Bred Sale

What a tremendous sale we had at the Coaltown of Balgonie Bowling Club with a grand figure being raised for some late breds of some of the best birds around. Many thanks must go to the Auctioneer for the day Bob Blyth and his helpers Dod Harley and George Wilson. Secy Jessie Keir for doing the paper work, Margaret Anderson and Muriel Wilson for the Raffle also helped along by Mr & Mrs David Power of the NEHU, who usually come up to our sale and is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the anonymous fancier who paid for and made up a full colour page advert for us in the BHW. Also the Milton club members for the use of their pens and setting them up, and to the willing helpers who stayed behind to tidy up. Finally many thanks to the people who donated the many prizes for the raffle and the purchasers and donators of top class pigeons. Without the help of the afore mentioned there would be no sale, so very well done to one and all!
