ESSEX & KENT AMALGAMATION

E. J. SAINS

The face of the Essex & Suffolk Border Federation for 2015

The Essex & Suffolk Border Federation has now had three end-of-season meetings to sort out the business that is needed to be put into place ready for the 2015 Annual General Meeting. The overriding topic of these three meetings was of course the need to acquire a new transporter, fit for the purpose of transporting the federation’s pigeons in a changing future. It was also discussed by the members that to purchase such a transporter would not only mean fundraising but also being astute when it came to organising the race programme, as well implementing it with profit in mind rather than a chance of a loss.

New Clubs

The federation welcomed the application of two new clubs for the 2015 season. These two new clubs not only strengthen the federation with greater numbers but also strengthen the federation with the numerous outstanding flying members within these clubs.

A Young Bird Sale

A young bird sale is to be organised in order to raise funds for the proposed new transporter. These young birds will be sold in pairs to make the delivery costs more economical, particularly for those wanting to race their young birds. The young birds for sale will be bred from the best birds in the fanciers’ lofts, in other words bred from the pairs that breed their top racers, plus further young birds that will be bred by top fanciers that have offered their help. Within the federation there are Essex & Kent Amalgamation & Combine winners plus multiple federation, amalgamation & combines winners, top north road championship flyers, both long distance and sprint fanciers. The sale will be advertised in the fancy press, with the birds being sold on a time limited bidding system. Fanciers who have purchased young birds will be given a date when their youngsters will be old enough for dispatch. So watch out for the advert, this will be an opportunity for you to buy something special.

New clubs are always welcome

The federation still has some room on the transporter for any new clubs wishing to join a progressive federation.
