Enfield Continental Flying Club Update

Down at the Cabbage Patch the end of the season came and we were offered by the Inter Counties Fed,  a self supporting race from Blandford, which unfortunately no members sent to due to either losses, members being on Holiday or some members being ill and hospitalised. I am glad to say that the members in question are now back on the road to recovery. This season the Club has done very well in the Inter Counties Fed. and  UBI Combine with a Combine win, for the 2nd year in succession also with a 2nd,3rd  Combine and other high placed positions by our members. Since the season ended we have had club meetings approx once a month which most members have attended, with letters being read out for 4 new applicants to join our club which would take us to 21-22 flying members. Also with members meeting up for a Christmas drink at the Clubs HQ which was a very good night out.

We have also received some bad news just before Christmas that one of our members Pat O’Sullivan has got to give up racing due to ill health, which stopped Pat earlier on in the Old Bird season. Over the years Pat has put up some exceptional performances on the North Road in the LNRC & NRCC from Thurso & Lerwick with 7x1st section as well as 14th Open in the NRCC as well as numerous LNRC wins as well as being a past winner of the Tommy Long Trophy. In the last few years Pat has raced a small team South Road in the club as well as in the BICC and has sent as far as Barcelona. All of Pat's birds will be going up for auction at Blackpool in 2 separate auctions, with a auction on the Friday & Sunday, and there will be some cracking Long Distance pigeons up for sale.

Finally, just a reminder that the Clubs A.G.M is on the 7th February 2016 Until next time,

Happy New Year.

The blue hen (Celtic Spirit) won 1st North London Fed, 1st section NRCC, 1st open LNRC, 14th open NRCC (1674 birds) - all from Lerwick.
The blue cock (Last son of Braveheart) is the sire of Celtic Spirit.  The dam of Celtic Spirit is Champion Limerick Lady who has won 1st, 2nd, 5th and 19th LNRC, 2 x 1st section NRCC Lerwick.
