The Yorkshire Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire South Road combines first race of the season to report on. It’s been very hectic and stressful with all the Covid restrictions in place for racing pigeons but as soon as the Continental restrictions were lifted Steve Teasdale pigeon transport were booking the ferry crossings and the liberation sites the second the news was released for a green light so all was now ready it was now down to the fanciers and their pigeons to be ready.
So time came round quickly as it does and the first combine race was from Falaise which is a fabulous liberation site for both the birds and the convoying team so it’s a no brainier to attend this great place so on the 10/7/20 the transporters were all parked up ready at Falaise with head convoyer Willy Ward AKA Yorkshire’s Finest in charge the birds were in good hands with the regular water stops at the Crossing Docks and on site arrival the birds again were fed on one of the combines regular sponsors the high quality Countrywide premier corn mixes so on the morning of the race 11/7/20 at 7am into a light north head wind 6,024 birds sent by 13 south road organisations were liberated at Falaise.
