East Down Combine News
with Clifford Browne
West Section successes from Bude & Mallow
The East Down Combine had two races on Saturday June 12th ,The Derek Wishart Classic from Mallow and the cross Channel race from Bude . The Mallow birds were liberated at 9am into a light Westerly wind which saw the leading birds making velocities in the 1500’s . The Birds in Bude were away at 10am again into a light Westerly wind with velocities in the 1200’s .
From Bude the open winners were Walter White and Son of Newtownbreda on 1279 ypm.
We stay with the West Section for the next three birds with Dundonald’s M/M Brown who are having a fantastic year in 2nd Open followed by Ballylesson’s John Patterson and then B Anderson from Belmont . The Bangor partnership of Burgess & Brennan had two together for 1st & 2nd East Section 4th and 5th open and on the same yard at 6th open was Annsborough’s Jim Cleland back to Dundonald’s Stephen Brown for 8th & 9th Open with the Rooney family of Annsborough completing the top 10 in the open .
From Mallow the provisional top ten are :
