Hat Trick of Open wins for Gordons
The 6th Young Bird race of the season for the East Down Combine saw the birds in Fermoy and with a westerly wind it produced another fast race with the leading pigeons almost on a mile a minute, it also saw the partnership of Gordon Bros & Sons win their 3rd consecutive Open and again they did it in style with 8 of the top ten in the open ,including 1st ,2nd & 3rd -tremendous flying . The birds were released at 10am and the Gordons top three birds were right together . Again the East section dominated the early result with the top 12 birds in the open being from the East section to the Cloughey ,Killyleagh Central and Portavogie clubs .
The West section was again won By Jim Young and ptnrs of Dundonald at 13th open closely followed by Ronnie Johnston who we are pleased to see back at the top of his game racing with Comber Social and the next three then were to Brown & McConnell of Dundonald .
