Cromie, Magee & Son 1st Open Fermoy 2
For the 6th Old bird race of the season the East Down Combine were back to Fermoy on May 20th and being a lovely morning the convoy of 4,600 birds were in the air at 8am into a light SW wind which again gave winning velocities at over 1700ypm . Topping the East Down Combine this week is the Ballynahinch loft of Cromie,Magee & son closely followed by the Rooney family of Annalong and these two lofts provide the West and East section winners . W Hayes & son of Ballynahinch are 3rd open and both the Gordons and the Hoggs enjoyed another good race.

John Patterson not only has both his 2 birds in the result but it looks like they came together. Once again the two bird winners feature well in the overall Combine result.
This week the race is from Talbenny in Wales and already race marking has had to be put back a day as Saturday does not look good for a channel race .
