The All England Roller Club held its annual show in the memorial hall in the picturesque village of Aston on Trent. There were several classes and the show was very well supported with fanciers coming from all over the country. The judges were Jimmy Mullen with Ken Mullen as the steward and Ian Lawrence with Bill O'Callaghan as steward. The task of picking the winners was very difficult as the entries were of top quality. The old bird winner with 291 points was George Mason. Old bird runner up was Bill O'Callaghan with 236 points with third place going to Andre Cora with 195 points. Best opposite sex went to R. Young with best young bird going to Kev Bowden. The prize money paid out was £400, a brilliant effort by all with fly secretary Ross Young and show secretary Jodie Rixon doing a great job. Yearling winner was Mark McCrory with 186 points. In second place with 175 points was David Bird with third place going to Chris Rhodes with 158 points. The young bird winner was Graham O'Shea with 168 points. Runner up was Darren Deacon with 151 points with third place going to Morris Hole. Winner of best old bird novice flier was Andre Care. Best young bird novice flier was Graham O'Shea and winner of best yearling novice flier was Mark McCrory. Best quality points winner in the all England flies went to George Mason. The rose bowl winner was Simon Okelly. The Pensom shield winner was Darren Deacon. The aggregate cup winner with 384 points was George Mason. While the judging was taking place there was an auction of some very good quality pigeons which raised £850 plus a raffle which made £115.
