Our President Jim Hooper It is with great sadness that we have to report the loss of our President Jim Hooper on Monday 20 th May. Jim was one of the great ambassadors for pigeon racing at all levels and had an overwhelming pride for the British Barcelona Club. Being made President of our Club in Our President Jim Hooper It is with great sadness that we have to report the loss of our President Jim Hooper on Monday 20 th May. Jim was one of the great ambassadors for pigeon racing at all levels and had an overwhelming pride for the British Barcelona Club. Being made President of our Club in 2016 was the icing on the cake for Jim and he was a figurehead that the members loved to have at the top. As Secretary Jim took the Club to another dimension obtaining sponsorships and donations from all over to help the Club on a financial footing. The presentation dinners were out of this world and it shows how good they were as members are still laughing and talking about them today. When Jim called out your name he made you feel so special whether you were collecting a small award or one of the big ones. I last spoke with Jim on our first race of this season and even though he was feeling poorly he still telephoned me to find out how the race had gone. That was how much he loved this Club. You will be greatly missed Jim but your presence will always remain in the British Barcelona Club. Rest in Peace Jim. Jim’s funeral Jim’s funeral takes place on Tuesday 11th June at 1pm at Cardiff & Glamorgan Memorial Park & Crematorium, Port Road East, Barry, CF62 9PX which is on the A4050 on the way to Barry.
