RACE PROGRAMME 2014 AND NEWS UPDATE
The BBC race programme has now been decided and is as follows:
A decision was made by the Committee at a meeting held on Sunday 8
December 2013 to go with the International to Barcelona and not by
ourselves to Northern Spain. This decision was not taken lightly but was
made in the best interests of the British Barcelona Club. If the BBC were
to race alone from Spain the minimum loss the Club would incur before a
pigeon was basketed would be £3,500. We would love to be able to race
from Spain by ourselves in the very near future and we are looking at ways
to try and raise funds to support this prestigious race.
The race point for the young bird open race on September 13
is still yet to
be confirmed.

Marking Stations 2014
All marking stations will remain in place for the 2014 season just as they were
for the 2013 season. After racing has concluded next year these will be looked
at and any marking stations poorly supported will be taken off.
Young Bird Sale 2014 Date to be confirmed.
The young bird sale in 2014 will be held at Salisbury Livestock Market only.
Anybody who would like to donate to this sale please let me know.
If you cannot make it to the sale commission bids will be taken on birds prior to
the sale commencing.
Basket Nomination
The basket nomination is now being fizzled out and we will no longer be
accepting any new nominations. All previous basket nominations still in place
will be honoured.
New Section J
A proposition was passed to divide section D east to west using 00 degrees
longitude. Anybody East of 00 degrees will now be in the new section J all
members West of 00 degrees will remain in section D.
2014 Subscriptions and new membership
All 2014 subscriptions are now due and must be paid before 1
April 2014.
If anyone would like to join the BBC for 2014 now and celebrate our 50
year
please let me know and I will forward on a new membership form or
alternatively you can print one from the Clubs website.
